Has developed some sort of allergy. We have eliminated food as the problem. I took him in today for his second cortisone shot, and now we are waiting to see what happens next. The vet has advised me to keep him out of the park. I was wondering if anyone runs their dog in Kenton Park that has had issues with belly rashes and chewing of the legs and feet?

Becca~ I would love to know if there is anything in the Chinese Herb dept. that I could give him. Bathing him is good, but I used to take him to the park every morning, so bathing him every day wouldn't be a good thing. Not to mention it would probably do away with the flea meds he is currently using. I am right now trying to limit his access to the backyard (the allergen may be there), and instead of the park were exploring the neighborhood.

Hi Kari,
It sounds like poor Koda is allergic to grass(es). I would start with seeing if baths immediately after playing in the park helps. Perhaps if you get the allergens off his skin ASAP his body won't have the chance to react to them? I wonder if anyone else has ideas of stuff you can try at home? Also, Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can be very effective at helping his body learn to NOT overreact to allergens in the first place. If you have any questions about Chinese Medicine and allergies, feel free to ask away! :)
