at 8 weeks old drake is doing very well with retrieving, yesterday he even did a double! he is getting the basics right now but in a few months he starts the hard core waterfowl training. We have been looking for a place to take him swimming but all the local ponds are too cold to learn to swim.

This crazy handsome black lab/hound mix is awaiting his forever family at Lexidog...Nicco is 1 year old and would LOVE to be your running partner! He will be a great family pet-he loves kids, dogs and is genuinely a tail wagging, happy guy!

We should all check our dogs on a monthly basis, much like we should do for ourselves. Thanks Karen for posting this tip.

Feel your dogs! I know this sounds silly, but my 2 year old dog had a lump on her side (starting at age 1). And it turned out to be a mast cell tumor, so no matter how old or young your dog is, please give them a good rub down and ask your vet to do a needle aspiration on any lumps you find, you may just save their life.
