New York Times/pdxdog/PawNation/Dogster Articles and Blogs

We are in the New York Times Oregon Wants ‘Dog Friendly’ to Be Less So Today! We made the "A" National News Section, Front Page, which is pretty cool!
This just in: You have to read the interview I did withPawNation this past week. It's a good article, they have received over 95 comments from all over the U.S. Ditto on Dogster Blog, I'm stunned.

People Fine Tuning Social Networks To Meet Their Needs

The interview focused on the role social networks can play in community building. A subject of great interest to me! I am very proud of what we are doing and happy it attracted many new members.

From Susie Waki/Project Pooch -

"I just got the word that Joan Dalton, Project POOCH Founder and Director, has been selected as one of only 10 finalist for Animal Planet's 2008 Hero of the Year! So out of over 10,000 nominations, Joan has made it to the top 10!

Here's a link to the Animal Planet Hero of the Year website where you can read about Joan and cast your vote for People's Choice. We need to get the word out, so please vote and forward this email to your friends and family and ask them to vote too. The winner of the 2008 Hero of the Year receives $10,000 for their organization!"

How fun! I just joined and already have some "news" to share. On Wednesday night Mini Kooper was named Mr. Yappy Hour at Urban Wineworks and along with Miss Yappy Hour, an adorable English Bulldog puppy named Betty, will be featured on the cover of the OHS 2009 calendar. Kooper's picture will also be used in the month of November, to celebrate his first birthday. Profits from the calendars support OHS and the great work they do, so be sure to pick one up. And hey, since they will be available in November, the calendars will make great Christmas gifts!

This is not in the news, but it is news : )
As some of you know I am a competitive groomer. I was competing in Seattle 2 weekends ago and placed 2nd in the Terrier group with a Soft Coated Wheaten terrier and 2nd in the Mixed breed category with a Coton/poodle mix. This past weekend I was in New York for Pet Fashion Week preparing a Miniature poodle for the runway show. It was a blast.
