I am heading to Ashland,OR. and McKenzie Pass in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know of any unique dog loving abodes, preferably on the water in McKenzie.

News Flash!

Congrats to Val Mallinson, Author of the 2nd Edition of The Dog Lovers Guide to the Pacific Northwest. She also wrote the first edition. It is one heck of a great and useful book.

Hi, Judie, Sweetie and Auma from St. Johns here. We recently stayed at Lake Creek Lodge in Camp Sherman and had a wonderful time. It is a little expensive (for me anyway) but worth it. We stayed in their studio cabin. They provide one water bowl, dog towel, and dog blanket to put on the bed. There are miles of trails, you can walk out the door of the cabin and walk for a long time. While we were there we ate at the Kokanee Restaurant in Camp Sherman, and they let the girls and I sit outside in front on the deck so they didn't need to wait in the car. Really nice people. I highly recommend this place and definitely plan to return.
Another place that I like is The Mount Hood Inn at Government Camp. The girls and I have stayed there a few times and really like it.

I loved Camp Sherman, very dog friendly, good hiking, etc. I'm sure there are many other places...
One of our members, Val Mallison is writing the second edition of a dog lovers guide to the pacific northwest a totally fabulous book for us dog lovers!
She knows everything. I sponsored a book signing with her first edition and we will probably do it again when the new one comes out this spring.

Thanks Diane!

I have checked craigslist, but maybe I should just keep checking there.

Have you checked out Craigslist? about a year or so ago I found something really sweet on Craigslist that allowed pets. The cabin even had a hot tub. sorry I did not keep the info.

I want to find a cute, romantic mountain cabin to rent for this summer. Does anyone know of any places that allow dogs. I have found lots of cute cabins for they never allow pets.

We recently got married at the Adobe Resort in Yachats. Its super dog friendly! Tho, the newly remodeled rooms dont allow dogs.

With a great state maintained trail that starts at this resort and runs north along the beautiful rocky shore about a mile to a wonderful sandy beach. It great exercise for the poochy before you head out to dinner. The trail is quiet enough that Sophie can be off leash

Hi Sandra,
This is probably too late but,
I stayed in Boise last year at a dog friendly hotel. (Marriot)Not only did they just charge me $10.00 for all three of my dogs, but provided doggy treats and bisquits. It was great and right (and I mean a few steps out the back door) next to it is a great walking path that lead to the streams.
