Welcome to pdxdog and a world of wisdom! Of course we love all pups, although my Ellie loves being a Golden Retriever. She is such a great dog. You will love bringing up baby.
You are right to do your research. Genetics plays a big role in Golden breeding.
You might check how they choose their dogs, their view of dog genetics, etc.
In any case, have a great time with us and join in where ever you want.
