- Hellooo ~ I am Dede, age 51, hubby and I were empty nesters and we have recued (5) chi's over the course of 4 years. Please note: There will be NO MORE recues or adoptions per my hubby. Wednesday is our last!
We have pet stairs so they can get into our King bed with us, Hubby built a 2 story hotel so they have a very comfy place to be when I am at work in the mornings for 4 hours. Our backyard is completely fenced and safe.
I am a four (4) year Survivor of Stage 3a Breast Cancer.

- Because I have Chi's and it might be fun. I take Edwina with me to work and other places too. Once Wednesday is better socialized and comfy, I will start to take her to work and out in the public along with Edwina.

Baby Girl Bear Cub Rescued ~
Well this time it was NOT a Chihuahua but a 3 - 4 month old female black bear cub. She was unable to walk, we thought her right foot was broken. She was dehydrated and in the road falling down, crying and going in circles. The mother bear was nowhere to be found. She was taken to the proper authorities and the vet got an IV in her and assessed her. - Truth be known ~ a friend sent over the Chihuahua movie and I tried to sit and watch it. I didn't care for it and 1000 pardons to those who did like it, but it was NOT anything like my Chihuahuas or life with them. The entire time I was thinking, I should write a Chihuahua movie or story ~ but then when I was going through chemo I literally lay in bed and wrote out a list of things I wanted to do before I died.... I didn't call it a BUCKET LIST but that is exactly what it was... I made the list and then started doing the things on it, should have made a movie about THAT and made the kazillion dollars from it! Ya know ~ I did start a children book when my son was 2 years old (now 22 and a fire fighter) I have it typed up on recipe cards ~ no kidding, I have done that with about 20 or so books, but so far not a Chihuahua one. Who knows, I might just transfer it to my computer, add the graphics and actually DO IT ~ it IS on my Bucket List to finish you can bet the cover will be PINK! Oh and I must share, this is totally OFF topic ~ but if you go to MySpace (I wish you all had a MySpace, as I have many CHI friends there ~ omg they have complete pages of chi stuff. One has two chi's name CoCo Chanel and the other Armani ~ get it? Anyways, the have pages and layouts all for chihuahuas. You could all do that too! FUN ~ FUN! oh back to my other story, a guy on MySpace ~ TOP LIST ~ Crabby Cards ~ makes cards ... duh.. anyways, I am so honored, he sent me some cards and they are OF me... for ME to use. OMG ~ he has cards he made for Oprah, Jacqlyn Smith, Ellen ~ but he made some for ME. His wife passed from cancer and he is raising his daughter ~ anyways, something in my page, my journey inspired him and so he sent them as a surprise to me (he previously donated to the Relay For Life) so ~ I just feel elated ~ okay I feel like Jacqlyn Smith... hahahaha ~ and when you open the card it says Muuuuuuuah ~

- Hi Dede & furbabies. I just thought I'd let you know that I have a little Chi who wanted to go for rides but wanted up to see what was going on. He & my Pom, Paige, would not stay in their areas of the car until I purchased doggie car seats. Now, they love to go for car rides even more than before. They are cozy & comfortable & safely harnessed into their seats. :) I don't always harness them for rides but they do know which doggie car seat is theirs & they love to stay in them & look out. Maybe Eloise & Nina need a Buddy Car seat. That'd be cute! I now have my passenger seat & back seat full of doggie car seats for rides since I have 7 furbabies. You could always get a "console" car seat that fits between the passenger & driver's seat to see if they'd like it. I'll bet these two littlest ones would fit in it together just fine. :) It's fun to read updates on Wed/Eloise. Thank you. ~Carrie

Tracy said… - Thanks for the message Dede. I have always thought of little dogs as yappy too, good to hear not all of them are. I have a big dog and two cats right now and feel like I don't have the room or time for another dog but hopefully I will get a bigger house soon and that will change. My little cat that I have now sleeps under the covers, I end up waking up and she is cuddled up next to me under the covers. There are so many great dogs out there, it makes it hard I want to adopt them all : )

- Nina went home with Deb Bowen, she is a co founder of Oregon Dog Rescue. Her cell is 503 819-1720 I did forward your email on to her but she may be out and about. When you call her tell her I gave your her number and you know about Nina through me.
