I live near Mt Tabor and there are many, many coyotes. I have 3 big dogs though and one coyote alone is no match for my dogs. Coyotes though, when in packs are very dangerous. My friends aussie was attacked by three of them a week ago in NW portland…

The woes of a wellness plan
Allergies are the worst! Sylas, a Shih Tzu that I share with my mother is from a puppy mill.
He is seven and allergic to mother earth--he has been poked, proded and tested for everything. You name it, he is allergic to it. Inhalants and allergy injections have never worked for him--only steroids.
Sylas is on a special diet; the couches are covered; the house is vacuumed daily; he gets weekly baths in medical shampoo, etc.
Sylas takes a tapered dose of steroids a few times a week. He makes reg… Continue

2009 Diamond Collar Hero Awards
Last Friday, Paul, Emmett and I loaded up the big yellow wagon and headed downtown to the Governor's Hotel for the Oregon Humane Society's Diamond Collar Hero Awards. We were all dressed in our best--Emmett included in a special bow tie (and of course, with lint rollers in our bag).
