Hello dog lovers! I am a relatively new to Portland, having moved from NW Montana where I served as volunteer President of the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of NW Montana. Prior to that I graduated from The University of Utah College of Nursing with a Masters in Gerontology and wrote my thesis on Pets and Bereavement. While living in Salt Lake City we rescued a dog from the shelter. Alex was an amazing dog and when he passed, he inspired a new business idea called Prayersonthewind.com I have rescued and rehomed many animals over the years and currently reside with 2 dogs, 1 cat and 1 husband, all of us rescued each other.

Do you have a special skill, idea, or talent to share with us?
To share my passion for all things 4 legged and to find others who understand the Human Animal Bond. I also lost a dog, "Alex" whose death catapulted a new business. The loss of Alex's inspired my husband and I design a prayer flag for humans to fly when their pet passes.
How did you find us?
My new friend Kate Davis told me.

Hi, Vicki: Yes, the animals that share our lives are truly *amazing*! I'm so grateful that my son could grow up with animals in the house. Last year we got two tiny rescue kitties. It's really made a difference in his teenage life to be able to cuddle up with them. I'd love to paint a portrait for you anytime- just let me know the details and we can work together on what you are envisioning. ~ Connie P.S. I'm going to give your information to a friend of mine, Chris Davis, who wrote "For Every Dog An Angel." Maybe you could work something out together to create gift baskets for those who are grieving the loss of their companion.
Hi, Vicki: Thank you *so much! I *love* your prayers on the wind flags. What a terrific idea. And I agree with what you said on your site - there can never be too many prayers on the wind. I hope you make a lot of connections here to further your business. Please keep in touch! ~ Connie
