We have two old dogs, ages 14+16. Their health is declining and we are giving them all the attention now. When our oldest passes I will contact you. We have plenty of room. I am always going to Portland hospitals and such. It would be great exposure for a puppy. My name is Teia Hassey, e-mail is mistyhillfarms@gmail.com. send a note and I will send you all my info. Thanks.
hi Jan, one of your puppy raisers was in today inquiring about daycare..I was wondering if your pups are allowed to go to daycare? Raising Guide dogs for so long and not being allowed to let ours go to daycare I was just curious as to your programs regulations!:)

If you would make up a flier I would be happy to post at our Lexidog locations...We are currently raising a 7 month old Guide dog pup and geting an 8 week old at the end of this month-along with our 3 pet dogs--(yes, 5 girls)--so our house is too full for another baby right now! We would be happy to promote puppy raising though! I believe that if i can give up my baby that became a guide last year ANYONE can do this!!!
Hi Jan,
If I thought I wouldn't get too attached, I would raise one. I think it's a good idea to tell people what is expected of them with the responsibility. I think they know what to do expect more from Guide Dogs for the Blind, just through public exposure. But, I don't know if people understand how it would be the same or different.
Another thought would be to contact Guide Dogs for the Blind in Boring and ask for their advice. They might be able to help you out. What do you think?
