portland's social network for information, resources & friends

We just moved up to Portland about a month ago and my boyfriend and I have been trying to socialize Shadow. Shadow was taken from a puppy mill a couple of years ago, but we think he must have been crated all the time and not socialized with the dogs there because he's a bit shy. He loves people and gets along well with cats, and we've been taking him to dog parks, but he's so small and the dogs usually at the park aren't. So we're kind of hoping that there are some groups for small dogs so that we can let him play with dogs close to his size so he won't be scared/intimidated. There's only been one dog that he had fun playing with a week or two ago, Zumina, who we met in Washington Park. We've also been thinking about trying to socialize him with other italian greyhounds (he doesn't really look like one, but he is, just a really small one). So if anyone has any tips or ideas for me, i'd really love the help. Thanks!

Some local dog parks have areas for small or timid dogs.
Potso in Tigard has a side for small dogs....and there is a dog park near Lake Oswego that has a very nice area for timid dogs.
