About Me: It's fun to know our members a little bit.
OK First Gunner will have his eye surgery tomorrow mostly because of a builder in WA Lee Piccalilli and a local gal Laura Battin I will update as he recovers.
For those that do not know Gunner is a 2 yr old Lab boy that had entropionism (inverted eyelids) top and bottom
OK as promised when we got Gunner done I would come back and put up a real page about me
I was born into the dog world. I tell people I was whelped in a litter box and teethed on Milk Bones, which is just about true. I have been rescuing since I was a in JR High and showing and handling since I was a teenager
I am a retired conformation show breeder I closed my kennel in Salem and moved up here to try and save a 20 year marriage he did not want to save I found out in 2001. I still co/own dogs showing all over the world. But right I only have Sadie (pictured) (French-Vanila's Never Say Never Again) a black bitch named because I said I would not have another dog after I left my companion girl in Salem. Punky (French-Vanila's Peppermint Cream CD CDX WC) Who stayed with a good friend- my girl Punky, whos Daughter Gracey (in Holland) Dutch CH French-Vanila's aLot To Be Thankful For was on the cover of dog world before she retired. So the dream goes on just without me.
I started my Lab Rescue in Oreon in 1996 because there were none in Salem that would take mix breeds or owner surrenders. I even end up with cats hehehe!
Right now we have a 5 year old girl we may have placed so we are holding off on offering Zoee up to be screened
And Shadow we got last night that is 1-2 years old and is a mess malnourished and 15-20 pounds underweight. I was told she had a wound on her belly. But it was more than a little tear. She has a gapping infected wound that needs to be left open to drain for now, but will need surgery for the damage and to close. The injury is much deeper than just needing stitches she needs muscle repair. She is on antibiotics and surgery will be 7/17 with help from Cathy Neckak of OFOSA THANK YOU Cathy!!!!!
And what is worse we suspect Shadow was used as a bait dog to train pits to fight. She not only is covered in scabbed over bite marks she is covered in scars of bite marks, the marks on her face made us wonder and so we started shaving hair around her neck and face. She has the soft non aggressive temp dog fighters like to use to ensure their dogs are not hurt in training, and Labs often are a prime candidate.
What Kind of Dog(s) Do You Have? What are their name(s)? It's nice to know.
I have Labs Sadie is here, Punky Gracey, and more live with co/owners
We have two house guest Zoee and Shadow

Why Did You Join This Network? This helps us meet needs and understand expectations.
I joined as someone told me it was a good place to nework to help Gunner, and other Labs.
Hi Sandy,
I just found a very cool website www.chipin.com which does some of the same things fundable does. You might check them both out and see what you think.
Go to the Groups Tab and find the Adoption Group, then you can join it, start a discussion, etc. You can join any group you want or create one.
We were able to raise over $2,000 on www.fundable.com for a rescue dog at Lexidog that needed a lung surgery..It was a very easy website and we got our money within 5 days after the close of the "fund"..They take a percentage of course, but it was small enough to make it worth it since the site reached so many people! Dear Sandy,
I can see you have an emergency on your hands. Join the adoption group and call write to Sidney (member) about how they raised money for another dog that had major bills.
